For the last few months, it’s been nearly impossible to see green (acid, fluorescent, but also pistachio and lime) without thinking “brat.” And while Emily Ratajkowski’s latest dress is not the exact shade of green that has seemed inescapable this summer, it’s close enough.
For those who don’t know, brat is the name of Charlie XCX’s latest album, and the album artwork features the title in lowercase against a slime green background. And so, watching Ratajkowski parade on the red carpet of the 2024 Venice International Film Festival—for the premiere of Battlefield—we couldn’t help but think of this connection.
The writer, model, and It girl sported a long green dress with a deep neckline and a bare back. It’s a vintage choice, dating back to the Gucci fall-winter 2004 collection, designed by then creative director Tom Ford.
Long, fringed tassels embellish the skirt of the dress, adding movement, while sheer panels at the bust lend extra sex appeal to the already sexy deep-V neckline.
Emily Ratajkowski knows what works for her, and what doesn’t, so she stuck to the classic for glam: light, smokey eyes in shades of brown; overlined lips in a nude shade; and last but not least, long and curved lashes. To complete the beauty look, EmRata wore soft waves with a deep part on one side, courtesy of Kerastase, which she has been an ambassador of for several years.
