Seasons may come and go, but the best sweatpants for women are eternal. Whether you’re running errands, settling in for a Netflix marathon, or wearing them to the gym, sweats and joggers are a year-round wardrobe staple. They’re still comfy, of course, but they’re no longer something to hide away inside your home; with the right styling—like a trench coat or blazer paired with dainty jewelry and sharp loafers or white sneakers—sweatpants can be undeniably chic. Just ask any number of celebs (Hailey Bieber, Zoë Kravitz, and Katie Holmes) who’ve been spotted out and about in sweats. We’ve rounded up Glamour editor and reviewer favorites, including slouchy pairs you can pull on before yoga class, a long flight, or an afternoon of running errands.

Amazon Essentials French Terry Fleece Joggers
Sizes: XS–6X | Colors: 21 options | Material: Cotton, polyester
You need these Amazon bestsellers on your radar, stat. Available in over 20 different colors, from gray and earthy brown to cherry red, these medium-weight sweats have earned praise and high ratings from tens of thousands of reviewers for their laid-back slim fit and supersoft texture. “They’re ultra thin and breathable, so I don’t overheat, and the cuff doesn’t slide up during the night and cut off my circulation, which has happened with every other jogger I’ve tried to sleep in,” says Condé Nast’s Kim Fusaro, who owns a similar pair from Amazon. “But my favorite part is that, while they’re the best for sleeping, they also totally work out of bed—and out of the house, even—so I can answer the door or run to Target and no one knows I’m still in my pajamas. Plus, they have pockets! Everything is better with pockets.”
- What we love: Size-inclusive; wide variety of colors; drawstring closure
- What could improve: Sizing runs large.

Uniqlo Sweatpants
Sizes: XXS–XXL | Colors: 4 options | Material: Cotton
The look of these Uniqlo pants are probably what come to mind when you think of sweatpants: relaxed throughout the leg, gathered at the ankles, and with roomy side pockets. They’re made of 100% breathable cotton and have a gentle waistband, with an inner drawstring that lightly cinches them for fit. “I’ve had mine for three years and find them to be durable with an affordable price tag,” says Glamour reviewer Angela Kim. “They’re made of a soft cotton, which I love and prefer (am not a fan of polyester for lounging). They’re comfy, loose, and I like the length as a tall girl, though I’ve heard from friends who are shorter that they wish the pants came in different lengths.” Throw on a button-down shirt and loafers for an afternoon on the go, or an oversized T-shirt for a nap on the couch.
- What we love: All-cotton material; supersoft; under $50
- What could improve: Only available in one length

Vuori Performance Joggers
Sizes: XXS–XXL | Colors: 12 options | Material: Recycled polyester, elastane
These joggers were the most-recommended among our editors and readers because of how incredibly soft they are (and how they only grow cozier with each wash). “I love sweats but hate that they often weren’t appropriate for the office or meeting up with people for dinner,” says Jessica Radloff, Glamour’s senior West Coast editor. “Enter Vuori, which creates athleisure that’s not only the softest but also incredibly chic and fashion-forward. They’re acceptable to wear to more than just the gym. I can dress them up or down, and I’ve yet to find a more flattering pair.”
- What we love: Extra-soft material; polished look; stretchy
- What could improve: Some pilling after multiple washes; pricey

Free People Playbook Joggers
Sizes: XS–XL | Colors: 4 options | Material: Cotton, polyester
“I’m one of those people who finds your standard sweatpants too bulky but who loves a good pair of joggers,” says Glamour commerce editor Malia Griggs. “My new go-to joggers are from Free People. They’re obscenely soft (like the inside of your favorite sweatshirt from college that you’ve washed a thousand times) and lightweight, with a high-rise drawstring waist that you can roll down if you want. I really like their faded vintage wash and tapered fit and find them comfy enough to wear to bed—and I never sweat in them, crucially.”
- What we love: Supersoft; tapered fit; faded wash
- What could improve: Pricey

Aerie Waffle Wide Leg Skater Pant
Sizes: XXS–XXL | Colors: 3 options | Material: Cotton, polyester
Wide-leg pants were one of the biggest 2024 pants trends and that's extended into loungewear. “My legs are short, but the flared cut of these Aerie pants elongates them, while the tapered waist creates the allusion that I'm more petite in that area than I am,” says Griggs. “They have the lightweight, almost spongy waffle-weave texture of my bath towels, which is fun. They're quite roomy, however, so I'd size down, and they drag a bit because they're so long (something to keep in mind).
- What we love: Wide-leg cut; lightweight texture
- What could improve: Very long; run big

Nike Sportswear Club Fleece Mid-Rise Joggers
Sizes: XXS–XXL | Colors: 15 options | Material: Cotton, polyester
Max out on cozy vibes with these relaxed lounge pants you’ll 100% regret not owning. “These have a shorter pile than most fleece sweatpants, but what you lose in plushness is made up for in softness. It softens with each wash, too, and doesn't pill up like a lot of fleece," says Glamour reviewer Mehul Shah, who recommends sizing up for a comfier fit. They're also, nicely, unisex. “I’ll borrow these from my boyfriend whenever we're having a lazy Sunday, and the brushed interior is beyond soft,” says Glamour contributor Andrea Navarro. Imagine how cute the athletic cut would look paired with a Nike hoodie, beanie, or the brand’s best-selling sling bag.
- What we love: Multiple inseam options; don't pill; warm
- What could improve: Some lengths sell out quickly

Skims Cotton Classic Jogger
Sizes: XXS–4X | Colors: 7 options | Material: Cotton, polyester
“As cozy as it gets,” notes Glamour reviewer Rosie Norton, who praises the soft cotton blend of these classic joggers. They feature a formfitting silhouette that enhances shape while maintaining comfort. Ideal for lounging or layering, they work well with a matching hoodie and your favorite sneakers for a minimalist, chic vibe. “I have thicker thighs and a round butt, so finding the oversized look isn't always easy for me, but sized up, these were great for me,” she says.
- What we love: Size-inclusive; perfectly oversized; breathable
- What could improve: Drawstring bulges
- 8/20
Lululemon Soft Jersey Jogger
Sizes: XS–XXL | Colors: 3 options | Material: Polyester, elastane
These are technically men’s activewear, but Glamour reviewer Lauren Costley thinks they’re the best sweatpants for everyone. “The men’s version allows for extra roominess and comfort without being overly baggy,” she says. “The sizing is also more straightforward (no numerical sizing). The fabric is supersoft and never pills. I usually wear them paired with Lululemon’s men’s jersey crewneck T-shirt because the brand doesn’t make many women’s clothes in this specific fabric.” The pants material is silky soft and brushed on the inside, its material wicks sweat, and the design thoughtfully includes hidden pockets for your phone (and a zippered one for your cards). Wear them for a low-impact workout or to sleep.
- What we love: Moisture-wicking; multiple pockets; very soft; simple sizing
- What could improve: Not very exciting colors
- 9/20
Alo Accolade Sweatpants
Sizes: XXS–XXL | Colors: 12 options | Material: Cotton, polyester
“Alo’s sweatpants don’t try too hard, and that’s exactly why I love them,” says Glamour commerce editor Jake Smith. “The silhouette is classic, with the same drawstring waist and straight legs as the ones you had in middle school. This pair, though, is decked out with just the right weight of terry, a cozy fleece interior, and a chrome Alo logo that’ll have you feeling like Hailey Bieber leaving yoga class. For the price, I wish the finishing could be a little better—metal aglets instead of plastic ones on the drawstring, for example—but this is still my favorite pair.” Bottom line: You can find so much more than just Alo leggings at the site.
- What we love: Classic fit; fleece interior; tons of colors
- What could improve: Finishing is insubstantial; pricey
- 10/20
Spanx AirEssentials Tapered Pant
Sizes: XS–3X | Colors: 4 options | Material: Modal, polyester
These stretchy Spanx sweats really put the “air” in AirEssentials. “Not only are these pants breathable and buttery soft,” says Glamour senior commerce editor Jenifer Calle, “but they make for the perfect airport outfit. I style it with a matching crew and I’m ready to go.” Though you might know Spanx for its shapewear, its sweatpants are far from compressive. This pair is stretchy and lightweight, with a fit that tapers at the ankle, keeping out cold air (important during drafty flights).
- What we love: Breathable; soft fabric; tapered fit
- What could improve: No pockets
- 11/20
Gap High-Rise Boyfriend Joggers
Sizes: XXS–XXL | Colors: 30+ options | Material: Cotton, polyester
Gap’s loungewear selection is so strong it’s hard to pick just one pair of sweats to love, but this cute, breathable find is a great place to start. “These Gap sweatpants are my go-tos for classic, no-frills sweats,” says Susie Plotkin, senior manager of global email acquisition at Condé Nast, who owns a similar pair. “They’re unbelievably soft on the inside, and the high waist is super flattering. They also hold up extremely well; I’ve had them for a few years now, and they’ve hardly pilled at all, despite being worn all the time.” Better yet, they come in three inseam lengths and have matching sweatshirts.
- What we love: Tall and petite lengths available; tons of colors
- What could improve: Waist might be too high
- 12/20
Jerzees 973
Sizes: S–3X | Colors: 20 options | Material: Cotton, polyester
For under $15, these heavyweight sweats are a cozy, unfussy option that soften with wear. “When it’s a stay-home-and-make-soup kind of day (and honestly also a day that involves popping on a button-down and nicer jacket and being fine with what happens next), these are my go-to pants to wear,” says Glamour reviewer Hannah Schwartz. “A friend left their pair at my house, and they’re never getting them back—they’re like a hug for your legs.” The bottoms’ fit is straighter through the leg—so if you’re not into the slouchy sweatpant look, consider these.
- What we love: Unisex; affordable; closed ankles
- What could improve: May be too tight for some; no pockets
- 13/20
Lou & Grey Signaturesoft Sweatpants
Sizes: XXS–XXL | Colors: 4 options | Material: Rayon, acrylic, spandex
Loft’s in-house line makes some of the softest, most beloved sweatpants—and they’re available in regular and petite sizing. “These are truly the most comfortable things I've ever owned,” says Glamour commerce director Brie Schwartz. “So many of even the softest sweatpants are a tad scratchy on the inside, but not these. Plus, I love that they aren't too bulky, making them especially great to travel with. They also wash really well, but after a few years they will start to pill. Still, they're great and they sit right at the waist for those midrise girlies.”
- What we love: Soft; multiple inseam options
- What could improve: Reviewers say sizing varies by color.
- 14/20
Adidas Tiro 21 Track Pants
Sizes: XXS–4X | Colors: 24 options | Material: Polyester
“Fellow soccer girlies, take note! These sporty track pants are just warm enough to keep you comfy on the sidelines yet breathable enough to keep you cool on the field,” Anastasia Sanger, Glamour’s senior manager of social creative development, says. “The zippers along the ankles are the real star of the show for me, though—opening up the zipper allows you to slide in and out of these pants without having to take off your cleats, making them perfect for fickle weather games.”
- What we love: Zippered pockets and ankles; multiple inseam options; moisture-wicking
- What could improve: Some reviewers say the fit is off.
- 15/20
Aritzia Sweatfleece Cozy Fleece Mega Sweatpant
Sizes: XXS–XXL | Colors: 23 options | Material: Cotton, polyester
“I adore these Aritzia sweatpants,” says Tchesmeni Leonard, senior fashion editor at Glamour, Allure, and Teen Vogue. “They’re exceptionally soft, and the slim leg and high-waist fit truly appeal to me. They’ve become a versatile wardrobe essential for me—I like wearing them with a blazer, a tee, and loafers when I’m on the go but want to dress up a bit and look chic. The fleece provides exceptional comfort and warmth. These have become a weekly go-to for me, and I couldn't resist getting them in multiple colors and sizes, including some that are oversized for a relaxed fit.”
- What we love: Sophisticated look; warm feel; three lengths
- What could improve: Drawstring waist can dig in
- 16/20
Splendid Supersoft Joggers
Sizes: XS–XL | Colors: 15 options | Material: Modal, spandex
“Splendid makes the sweatsuit that I’m not embarrassed to be seen in outside of the house,” says Schwartz. “I’ll wear these on a long flight or to the grocery store. This set has gotten me through many Netflix nights and cold runs to the bodega. They’re very cozy, but the detailing feels nicer than your average pair of sweats.” The jogger sweatpants have a slim tapered fit with cuffed ankles and side pockets and are made of airy, light modal.
- What we love: Lightweight; pockets; slim-fit; many colors
- What could improve: Pricey; material snags easily
- 17/20
Old Navy Extra High-Waisted SoComfy Sweatpants
Sizes: XS–4X | Colors: 7 options | Material: Cotton, recycled polyester
Old Navy’s bottoms are that in-between sweatpant—not too thick or sweltering hot, but more substantial than modal. “The tapered ankle creates a jogger feel, while the smaller, cinched elastic waistband (as opposed to a larger, flatter cuff) gives off a cool retro vibe,” says Glamour contributor Ali Drucker. The cut is notable—they’re an inch higher than your usual high-rise, hitting well above the belly button (a detail that Drucker says makes her feel “cocooned and protected”). Style the sweats with a dad cap and white sneakers for an off-duty celebrity streetwear look.
- What we love: Plus sizing; extra high-rise; affordable
- What could improve: Drawcord isn’t seamless (it’ll bulge if you lie on your stomach)
- 18/20
Quince Mongolian Cashmere Sweatpants
Sizes: XS–XL | Colors: 8 options | Material: Grade-A Mongolian cashmere
Quiet luxury, thy name is cashmere sweatpants. Cashmere is known for its temperature-regulating properties, durability, and extreme softness and airiness. Glamour reviewer Emily Şanli raves about her joggers from Quince: “I own a lot of cashmere, and these are definitely on the softer, higher-quality side. They’re so soft and flattering, and never get too hot or too cold. I wear them to walk the dog, sleep, and lounge, and they never get stinky. You might think cashmere is high-maintenance, but all you have to do is wash them on cold or delicate and then air-dry them. The only thing to note is that there’s some fabric pilling, but I just use a fabric shaver to remove it.” The joggers have cuffed ankles, and you can buy the matching hoodie for a full set.
- What we love: Soft; lightweight; warm but breathable; affordable for cashmere
- What could improve: Limited sizing; fabric pilling
- 19/20
MeUndies Modal Jogger
Sizes: XS–4X | Colors: 20 options | Material: MicroModal, elastane
Modal is possibly the lightest-weight sweatpant material (bordering on not even qualifying because you definitely won’t sweat in them, but we just had to include). “These are the comfiest pants I’ve ever owned,” says Glamour reviewer Molly Rugg, who’s worn hers for almost three years. “They’re super-duper soft and light and they never, ever get hot (unlike traditional sweatpants). They’re not stylish enough that I’d wear them to socialize, but they’re great for at-home or a walk in the neighborhood.”
- What we love: Extremely breathable; come in a ton of quirky patterns; size-inclusive
- What could improve: Fabric snags easily; not stylish
- 20/20
Lululemon Softstreme High-Rise Pant Regular
Sizes: 0–20 | Colors: 7 options | Material: Recycled polyester, modal, elastane
Lululemon’s straight-leg sweatpants are made of a uniquely soft, silky polyester/modal/spandex blend. “They’re almost satin-like in feel inside,” says Griggs. “When I put them on for the first time, the words that came to mind were silky and substantial. These pants aren’t messing around. They’re durable, very fitted with a shockcord (a plus, since tying a drawstring gets tiring), and have multiple pockets (including a hidden sleeve for your credit cards). They’re extremely warm without feeling heavy, and almost too high-rise, accentuating my stomach a tad more than I like. I think they’re ideal for wearing casually during cold weather, paired with an oversize sweater.”
- What we love: Warm; high-quality; smooth; come in three lengths
- What could improve: Could be lower-rise
