If you’re looking for specifics, hairstylist Jennifer Korab says that her clients with round face shapes typically request the following styles: long layers, lobs, side swept bangs, shags, angled bobs, and asymmetrical bobs. These styles can “create the appearance of length and angles.”
“Adding height and volume at the crown helps elongate the face,” she says. “Side-swept or curtain bangs are ideal, as they draw attention to the eyes and cheekbones while softening facial curves, unlike heavy, blunt bangs. Layers add movement and texture, preventing hair from lying flat against the face. Longer styles that extend below the chin are particularly flattering, as they contribute to a more elongated look.”

Curtain bangs look incredible on everyone, making it one of Marjan’s favorite styles. “Lately, I’ve been loving seeing face-framing fringe and lots of layers around the face, like Sabrina Carpenter’s hair,” she says. “You can style the fringe forwards with a round brush and blow-dryer and then set it with TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Hairspray for light hold, shine, and frizz control.”

Who says round face shapes can’t wear bobs? “I’m also loving a short French bob with blunt ends above the chin line,” says Marjan. “This lengthens the neck for a really beautiful profile and can be paired with a face-framing fringe that contours and shapes the face. Add some texture to your bob haircut to create dimension. “Kerry Washington often wears a textured bob that adds volume and movement, making it a great choice for elongating a round face,” says Korab. “To achieve this look, ask your stylist for a textured bob with choppy layers. For styling, use a texturizing spray or mousse to enhance volume and create soft waves. A medium-barrel curling iron can be used to add gentle waves, focusing on the ends for a natural, tousled finish. My hairspray of choice is Pureology Soft Finish.”
